Ryan Dodge, an employee in the Timberpeg design department needed a space where he could store his tools as well as an area to park his side by side ATV.
He designed a 10’ x 16’ storage shed with an 8’ x 16’ shed off the side for a parking area. Timberpeg cut a frame to fit his specifications and needs based on his design. Ryan traveled to Timberpeg manufacturing and picked up the frame and hardware.
With knowledge of timber framing and a background in construction he and a friend began erecting the frame and within a few hours the two had the main portion of the timber frame ‘dry-fitted’ together.
The following day Ryan made sure that the frame was plumb and square, then attached the frame to the floor deck and pegged the connections. He also began installing the common rafters for the main frame.
Having approximately 20 man-hours invested; the frame was completely erected and finished with an exterior grade clear stain.
Thanks in large part to the quality of Timberpeg’s craftsmanship and the simplicity of the design the frame went together without any major issues or complications.
Ryan plans on finishing the out-building with 1” rough-cut hemlock both for roof decking and siding applied directly to the frame. The roof will be finished with asphalt shingles and the exterior of the shed will be finished with exterior grade stain. Stay tuned for further updates.
