Timberpeg & Real Log Homes wins 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, in the “All-Wood Category” for the scarf joint design contest that took place at the Timber Framer’s Guild conference last week in Saratoga Springs, New York on November 4-8. The 1st place winner, Double Deuce, was able to withstand 4444 pounds. Tying for second with Bensonwood’s SOB was our PopSicle scarf, which finally busted at 4140 pounds. Our very own Diamond Dove came in 3rd place, withstanding just over 3000 pounds. Bensonwood had two entries, the strongest of which included a clever H-shaped metal connector with an overall joint capacity of 12,834 pounds. One other Ligna Tool scarf joint was entered by Timber Tools in last place for a total of six entries. More information, photos and final results can be found in the next Timber Framer's Guild publication!
